Glass drinkware is something most hosts don’t want to deal with. Good news, there are many plastic options out there that look just as good as the real thing.

If you’re throwing a party and you’re not sure if you want to pre-batch drinks, simply make a mixing station with all the spirits, mixers, syrups, garnishes, and other things your guests might need. Hey, chances are someone will eventually make a darn good drink and then you’ll have a residential mixologist for free. You’re welcome!

Ice is an important element for cocktails. You need it to dilute and chill the drinks, but it can also be used as a visual element that elevates even the simplest pour. Consider compounding some of your ice; to do that, mix the water with drink ingredients that you have on hand (flowers, fruit, herbs, juices, etc.) and pouring it into large format ice trays for freezing. You can even substitute wine for water to create beautiful, drinkable accents and garnishes.

Spills at a party are almost unavoidable, so plan ahead by creating a spill station. All you need is a small container full of water mixed with a light cleaning solution, 2 rags to soak in that container, and a few designated drying cloths. It’ll prevent panic when the spill happens.

Cleaning up after your great party is not a fun task. Make life easier by buying a separate trash bin for drinks only. Place it near the sink so people can pour out any liquids before disposing of their cups.
